With "Transformers 2" and "2012" both breaking box office records here in China, and now with "Avatar" poised to do the same, we wanted to know whether it was simply a case of the growing number of movie screens here in China that was driving the industry's growth, or whether existing moviegoers are going to the movies more often.

So we asked ordinary Beijing residents about their moviegoing habits in today's edition of Straight from the Street. Here's what they had to say.
