Visiting a restaurant in China can be a daunting experience. For a foreigner who doesn’t read or speak Chinese, even menus with English translations are confusing-- no one would ever guess that “husband and wife lung slice” is beef and ox tripe in chili sauce. But then there are also some dishes that foreigners refuse to eat no matter what they are.
